The man is the friend of all activity that Christians stand firmly against. The gay lifestyle, pedophilia, porn, child murder and teachings contrary to the Christian faith. To top it off he’s a friend of people involved in gang activity. Basically the man is a friend to thugs and thuggism. He in no way is working to protect Americans from any of the social or violent threats against this great nation. But put a spot light on him and watch the crowds fawn over him. If Americans are chasing after this guy, the job of the anti-Christ will be a piece of cake! (bold mine)

What's wrong with Muslim groups wanting to convert America to Islam? They are just following the dictates of their religion. Granted, some nutjobs will want to do it violently but that has happened with most religions.
We Christians want to convert the Middle East to Christianity. It's what followers of a religion are supposed to do.
I don't think Islam will have much luck with the US. The Western world is very secular and tends to drag people away from religion. It's happened with Christianity and I don't think Islam will be more successful.

All opinions are most assuredly not of equal value. I think Islam is a rather nasty religion but that doesn't mean that I think that people who follow it are all nasty. The author of that faithfreedom site you linked to put it quite well: Under Islam to be a good person you have to be a bad muslim. I honestly believe that Christianity is a better religion than Islam. I'm not really afraid of Muslims coming to the West as I think we are more likely to convert them than they are to convert us.

Ebsfwan--I was wondering if you could clarify your comment that "to be a good person you have to be a bad muslim." What exactly is a good person here and how would that make someone a bad Muslim? I'm not trying to be a smartass, I just don't understand that sentence in relation to the religion of Islam.

Hi Kevin,
I meant it in the sense that some of the tenets of Islam call for some rather drastic measures like forced conversion or death for non believers etc. So to be a 'good muslim' you need to follow these. Let me rephrase that: To be a 'good fundamentalist muslim' you need to accept these. Now I believe it is possible to be a good person and to be a muslim but it involves a lessening if you like of the religious aspect.
Some (maybe such as Mark?) may argue the same for Christians - to be a 'good' Christian some believe you need to literally follow the Bible including all the things that we may find morally unacceptable in a modern secular society. As such to be a 'good' person by secular standards you have to lessen your Christian beliefs.
I know many people (both Muslim and Christian) who I would classify as 'good' people by societal standards. Judged by the standards of their religion they may not be 'good'. For example, I identify myself as a Christian but believe in equal rights for homosexuals. To some Christians this means that I am not a 'good' Christian, but by the standards of my society (New Zealand) that belief is a moral good.
I hope that clarifies things somewhat.
For a Muslim to be a good person, they have to be bad Muslims, because true Islam dicatates that those who are not converted should be killed. So for a Muslim to be considered what we believe to be "good", they have to be what true Islam believes to be "bad". I think that is what EP is saying, but I arrogantly wanted a crack at it.

Is he truthfully friends with gang members? If so, are the members people in his family? Is the source you quote from something a normal news source could look at without scoffing? Do you have a source for that at all?
I like Obama, mostly because he's a self made man. In other word, he's immune to corruption, at least for a year or two. People who's family's lives aren't centered around politics usuall seem to have a bit more dignity, though that doesn't necesarily mean they're going to end up perfect either.
