The idol of love

There is literally a world of difference between "God is love", and "Love is God".
Within the churches where love has become an idol, there is this primary devotion to unconditional acceptance.  There are no judgements made to distinguish between true and false converts, and right doctrine is often set aside for "what works".
Biblically, love has nothing at all to do with self expression or self fulfillment.   Increasingly more and more churches are putting God's stamp of approval on an idol; her name is love and she never judges those she loves.
In essence, Love has become the false converts idol of our day, and it must be told that God hates idolatry and will judge those who participate in it. Think about it.
A great resource to explore this topic more is Jonathan Leeman's book:

The Church and the Surprising Offense of God's Love: Reintroducing the Doctrines of Church Membership and Discipline (IX Marks)
